Agatino John Amoroso, aka "Tino" or "AJ" is a first generation American citizen. A New York City native, born to Sicilian parents in 1967 at St. Johns Hospital in Jamaica, Queens, AJ was raised on the streets of Brooklyn, NY - later moving to Westbury, Long Island. He began his collegiate studies in 1985 at St. John’s University in Queens, New York. Achieving Summa Cum Laude, Mr. Amoroso graduated two years later with an associate’s degree in criminal justice, moving swiftly continuing his studies in Massachusetts at Boston College. While at Boston College, AJ worked as an Intern for pay and credit at the Boston Bar Association in their Lawyer Referral Service Department. He graduated Cum Laude, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science in 1989.
In 1993, AJ relocated from New York City to Southeast Florida, enrolling in the Juris Doctorate program at Nova Southeastern University - Shepard Broad College of Law. AJ was chosen for the Internship Program with the State Attorney’s Office of the 17th Judicial Circuit, where he tried and participated in approximately 25 Motions, Non-Jury Trials and Jury Trials in County Court.
Upon graduation, AJ accepted the position of Prosecutor with State Attorney’s Office 17th Judicial Circuit, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, prosecuting felony, misdemeanor and DUI-related offenses, & Tried approximately 100 Criminal cases in County and Circuit Court. It was here that he gained notoriety for his precise and outstanding Trial techniques – during his four years as a prosecutor, AJ was one of the most sought-after trial attorneys by many Criminal Defense firms. In 2000, he left the State Attorney and concentrated his practice in Criminal Defense, litigating various motions in the State of Florida, Maryland and California, perfecting his aggressive approach to Criminal Defense.
In 2006, Mr. Amoroso established his own Law Firm, successfully Tried over 50 cases from Second Degree Misdemeanors to Life Felonies in the Southeast Florida Tri-County areas including Martin, Citrus, Monroe, Volusia, Lee, Lake, Orange and Collier Counties.
